Education Alternatives in Raleigh, NC

Public education in Raleigh is provided by the Wake County Public School System. Raleigh is home to 134 schools in the system (84 elementary (K-5), 28 middle (6-8), 17 high (9-12), and 5 special/optional schools).

The State of North Carolina also provides for a certain number of charter schools. These schools are administered separately from the Wake County Public School System.
